Need a little help getting started at UC?
Join us on our Bruce Campus and receive tailored support in enrolling into your units. We are also able to answer any other questions you might have about starting your studies at UC as well as show you around our campus and the spaces you'll be studying in.
Now that you’re enrolled and can access your student account, it’s time to explore and complete your admin checklist so you’re set up and ready to go for the start of semester.
If you need any guidance, you can reach out to the Student Centre who will be happy to help.
Once you've enroled in units, you can build your timetable through Viewer. This is where you manage the days and times you'll study your units.
It's important to understand any placement or internship requirements for your course, or any necessary clearances, before you start.
There are two types of fees you need to think about at this stage; your tuition fees and the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).
Your tuition fees are charged by the individual units you enrol into by Census date. Any units you are enrolled into by this date, you will be charged for.
Every student’s fees are different. View your fees in myUC and reach out to the Student Centre if you have any questions about how your fees work, when they are due or what you might be eligible for.
If you're new to UC and never had an ID card before, you can skip the queue and order your ID card online!
Upload a photo of your choice, photographic ID and let us know how you want to collect your ID card.
We have a self-service kiosk in the Library where you can collect your ID card at any time.
Each faculty and every course will have specific information to share in the weeks leading up to classes. Now that you’ve set up your student accounts, you’ll be able to access these across MyUC and your student email.
Make sure you take the time to watch this series of videos to familiarise yourself with where to access timetables, emails, unit teaching sites, library resources and much more.
If you’re making the move to Canberra and haven’t already started browsing accommodation options, now is a good time to start. You can choose from a range of student housing on or near our Bruce campus, or rent a room, apartment or house elsewhere in the greater Canberra area.

Organising Overseas Student Health Cover is an important part of the admissions process, as you must have it in place before applying for a student visa.
If you’ll be studying with us on an international student visa, you’ll need to arrange this before you can start your UC degree. Don’t worry, we can walk you through the process. Don’t forget, you’ll need to have arranged your OSHC before you can apply for your visa.
