Stephen Parker Medal

Overview

The Stephen Parker Medal is awarded annually to the doctoral candidate who has submitted the most outstanding PhD thesis for examination in the preceding calendar year. This prestigious award honours Professor Stephen Parker, Vice-Chancellor of the 海角射区 from 2007 to 2016.

Eligibility

The award is open to all 海角射区 PhD graduates who completed their doctoral studies in the previous calendar year. All eligible candidates are automatically considered—no application is required.

Selection Criteria

Candidates are assessed based on the following:
  • Timely Submission: Thesis submitted within 4 EFTSL, or longer if a COVID-19 extension was granted.
  • Examiner Recommendations: At least one examiner must have recommended the candidate for the award. The number of recommendations will be considered in ranking.
  • Outstanding Examiner Feedback: Candidates who received exceptional comments in their examiners’ reports and were nominated for the award will be shortlisted.
A shortlist of up to 10 nominees will be presented to the Selection Committee for final consideration.

Award Outcome

The Medal is awarded to the candidate who demonstrates the most outstanding overall achievement across the selection criteria.
