Higher Degrees by Research

With a research focus on educational innovation, extensive partnerships with industry and our research centres, the Faculty of Education is committed to supporting research students to pursue Higher Degrees by Research. Our HDR candidates are part of a strong research culture and form an integral aspect of the faculty research activities and UC community.

Our areas of research strength are aligned to the following impact areas:

  • Optimise student learning: Processes of learning and development; cognition and metacognition
  • STEM practices in all educational levels; student and educator wellbeing
  • Strengthen schools and systems: Rural Education

Dr Eleni PetrakiA testament to the Faculty's commitment is the role of Director of Graduate Research dedicated to the development of our HDR students and offerings.

Dr Deborah Pino-PasternakThe Faculty also has a dedicated Associate Dean Research and Enterprise who works closely with the ADR (HDR) and focuses on research development and enterprise.
